I broke down and fired up the generator. Usually once I get out and run the extension cords the power come back on, so it should be any second now.

Doesn't hurt to keep a stove top perculator around if coffee driven. Old school but better than a hole in the K- cup. Although interesting solution to the coffee dilemma

Yeah, but pouring the boiling water from the pan into that tiny hole in the top of the k-cup is rough. Life in bb isn't as easy as dth.

Polar Orbit, I'm with you regarding the gas stove. You can safely make some toast in a pan, rather than over the open flame.

In past PSPS outages, like we had in January, running Spectrum's modem from backup power (UPS and/or inverter generator) kept my service alive. I'm not there to verify this time.

Gas stove lights with a match. Coffee, ham and eggs. Toast a bit iffy over the gas burner.

I switched to Frontier fiber and I'm grateful their battery backup is still online. It seemed Spectrum would drop fairly quickly when BVES went down. Now if I could only make coffee with a fiber connection. . .

This is NOT a viable solution to what ever problem this is supposedly 'fixing'. And I believe if ther are winds that will take down power lines (that appear to be substandard now) that at a least a leaf or two should be moving??
