I checked with Caltrans, and they responded:
"There is an issue a design regarding a culvert that our engineers are looking into and working with the San Bernardino Forestry and San Bernardino Water Resources Board can take time due to permitting. So, without the proper approvals, we advised out construction crews to suspend the project until everything is in order. "

Does anyone know what's really going on with 38? Suspended work while there are big open cuts on the mountainside just waiting for our monsoons so they can come sliding down?

VEGETATION FIRE
Units are assuming the Grand IC, we do have Grand operations set up. That's going to be Battalion 1611. We have a full Chino response on scene, along with LA County units. I'll get you those when I can. Can you give me a rundown of CAL FIRE resources inbound? Potential for 100 to 200 acres, imminent threat to structures.

FYI - The USFS has been performing a vehicle fire, vegetation fire, and medical aid drill at the Discovery Center in Big Bear. "Discovery IC". The operations on the Scanners are again a drill and not a real incident.

In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 25, 2026 Mountain Transit will operate as follows:

1. The Mountain Transit Office will be closed
2. NO OTM Service Route 5 & Route 6
3. NO RIM Route 4 Service

Big Bear Service: Operating Hours 6:00AM – 9:48PM Service Hourly
Trolley to Trails: Operating Friday, Saturday & Sunday Regular Schedule
RIM Service: Operating Hours 9:05AM – 5:10PM

I see from Sunday's commuter alert that all work on 38 from AO to Seven Oaks has been indefinitely suspended and will remain open.

Never heard of it

I saw here that you can arrange special pickup of multiple bags of Pine Needles up to 15. As a Cabin Owner-how do I arrange this as The Dump does not know about it? Is it on-line or via telephone? Please help.
