Lawsuits are actually the reason they're shutting the power off. Every time it's windy, and a line comes down and starts a fire, people sue. A Double-edged sword. So as a preventative, they're proactive cutting the power. Can't win, it's the price of modern-day conveniences. If everyone stopped suing for any reason, we wouldn't be here.

For a new homeowner the +s are pretty darn tempting. The -s are TCs closing the highway for a short time. Floods, fires closing the highways for days,weeks and months. Add in your PSPS and maybe someone says hell no. A law suit needs to happen to prevent the unnecessary power drops. Why is everyone putting up with this crap year after year. 3rd world country?

Moco- Did they say where the completed rolling blackout schedule can be viewed? Would be great to be able to plan in advance.

The concert scheduled for Saturday, June 27th in Moonridge is not affected by this power outage, and will go on as planned. Doors open at 4PM.

BVES PSPS UPDATE
Update – Rolling Outages in Effect
Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) continues to experience Southern California Edison (SCE)-
initiated power interruptions as part of SCE's Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) due to ongoing
wildfire risk.
As a result, electric service will rotate throughout the Big Bear Valley. Customers should expect
temporary rolling outages as BVES manages its limited local generation resources and works to
maintain the stability of the electric system.
During this time, BVES is prioritizing power to critical infrastructure and essential public safety
facilities, including emergency services and other critical community resources. Rolling outages are
necessary to balance available generation while SCE crews work to safely inspect and restore the
transmission lines that serve the Big Bear Valley

Crissy, they said it could take up to 8hrs to restore all power once it's been turned back on by sce. It has not been turned back on yet. The PSPS alert runs through midnight tonight.
