Low pressure remains stalled along the California coast and is slowly drifting eastward. This will result in wrap-around moisture across the San Bernardino Mountains through tonight, with snow showers expected to increase. Additional accumulations of 2-4 inches are likely, with isolated higher amounts near 6 inches possible.

If traveling, be prepared for winter weather driving conditions and always carry those chains!

I appreciate the answers on chains for Monday. We will have chains, if necessary, but appreciate the thoughts. The weather and road conditions are hard to predict. But those with experience have a good idea of the way it probably will be. Thank You and we will be ready one way or another.

Per Caltrans: All Chain Restrictions have been lifted in the San Bernardino Mountains, however, you must always carry chains when travelling to the mountains in the winter months. For the latest road conditions visit socalmountains.com/roads

Great news. They picked up a foot over yonder, got lucky with the storm. Our resorts are/were trying for this weekend too; more snow over this way would have helped! I don't think we'll see a foot, but maybe a few more inches!

Right now, it shows that R2 restrictions just on Arctic Circle (between Snow Summit and the dam) so that's promising (versus R2 down the 330).... So check the Road Conditions page day of travel

I just heard on the TV news, KTLA, that Mtn. High will open tomorrow.

ALWAYS be ready to put chains on. Mine go into the vehicles around Oct. 1 and do not come out until after Memorial Day.

Monday morning looks fine I'm driving down the hill too. Just be aware of black ice in the mornings, late afternoons and evenings

Hey snowski, it's tough. Snow showers will be fairly scattered and tapering off tomorrow. But no, I think you'll be fine by Monday; you should not need the chains at that time. Of course, always be ready as conditions can change. But looks good for you at this moment.

Question We have to go down 18 and 330 about 7AM Monday. They are saying snow tonight and until Saturday afternoon. Those with experience on this, do you think we will need to have to put on chains with our 2wheel drive car? ANy insite helps.

If we can set up a good wrap-around flow with this low, we should get some decent snow. But unfortunately, as Van pointed out, we're more in the center with the moisture swinging out and around us...
