SCE is a bunch of idiots, where is this " wind" they speak of?

It's not due to winds in the Big Bear Valley so much as gusts 40-50 mph in the high desert, creating a high fire danger. And unfortunately that is our supply line.

Gonna have to get a small modern generator. My dumpster find 2500 watt runs great but its super loud and puts out a lot of exhaust, plus it only runs 2.5 hours on a full tank, about 1/4 gallon. Time for a harbor freight run...

Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) is informing customers that Southern California Edison (SCE) implemented a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) affecting BVES supply lines. This is due to high winds and fire conditions forecasted in the region. The period of concern is today, June 20th, beginning at 3:00 p.m. through Saturday, June 21st at 3:00 a.m. BVES continues to monitor the conditions and will keep customers informed of any changes. Delays in restoration may occur due to daylight needed for safe inspections, which could delay restoration until June 21st at 9:00 a.m.

If looking at the winds around us the only wind at and around us is 25mph out near Palm Desert.

Well power is out in Sugarloaf and I bet most of BB is down. I have one of my two gens running now and have lights, internet and the refrigerator is on. So I am good until moring.
