Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) is notifying customers that Southern California Edison (SCE) has concluded the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) affecting BVES supply lines.

We’re out for our walk but we’re seeing a lot of lights on. So I’m pretty sure power is back on in Moonridge;)

This expletive deleted power outage. After waiting for days for the Big Bear Walgreens to get certain of my medication in stock, it finally managed yesterday (Saturday). I had three different types of diabetic shot medications that needed refillling. The power shutoff caused all my medication (and anyone else whose medications were refrigerated ) to go down the tubes due to spoilation issues. It might be Wednesday now until they might get the medications again.

HIB thanks. We have an older battery lantern by Coleman that runs FOREVER on either 6V or D. Since it's just the two of us we just carry a lantern with us from room to room.

I see that BVE is saying today, June 22, until 3 pm but SCE, who is responsible for our lines coming up from the desert along the 18 corridor, has NO such PSPS. See SCE.com, outage center, check outage status, map view, for all information regarding PSPS under consideration, PSPS active, etc.

While it's vital for each home/business to be prepared (we have a 16Kw standby generator that runs the entire house), I call foul on Edison for their jumpiness. The upside is that they're proving the absurdity of an All-Electric Future.

Costco EP360 [Click Here] is my fav of all time. The 2 satellites have a magnetic base, can charge independently and I can vouch for the 8 hour runtime x 3 = 24 hours. -$40-50 .

I have small UPSes in front of my equipment. I don't expect them to keep them online for long but it helps protect the equipment. I had Spectrum for many years and found their service lacking. This is the first problem I've had with Frontier.

Edison's game of "Simon Says" has become ludicrous – where a 25mph gust is perceived as a potential threat. Really, folks...

Another PSPS warning for today till 3PM. Yet the forecasts for Barstow, Lucerne, and Victorville call for calm winds during the day. Same with Highland and San Bernardino. Have SoCal Edison's "risk management" folks completely lost it?

A great thing about having Spectrum was their local store to easily swap any faulty units.

I like the little flat led work lights they sell at diy, insanely bright and lasts about 4 hours per charge, charges up like a phone, and its solid state, needs no batteries.
About 20 bucks apeice, its one of the best lights ive ever bought. I like the lanterns you mentioned too, ive had reliability issues with those typical to any battery flaslight.
