Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) is notifying customers that Southern California Edison (SCE) has placed one of the BVES transmission lines on its Monitored Circuit List for a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). This is due to high winds and fire conditions forecasted in the region. The period of concern is Friday, June 20th, beginning at 3:00 p.m. through 12:00 a.m. BVES continues to monitor the conditions and will keep customers informed of any changes.

SCM Folks:
The lack of incidents is due to the BFA (Big Bear Fire Authority) incident feed being offline. It went offline a couple of weeks ago. We have reached out to the BFA as to the status of their feed. The CHP feed remains active, and the BDF (USFS) feed will return later this week. As always, the team will cover any major incidents. We will provide updates on this accordingly. Thank you!

I was wondering the same thing, Long Timer. I live 2 streets up from the blvd & hear sirens going by all the time. & yes, I'm a nosey old lady 😂

Has anyone received any communications about weed abatement yet for this year? I feel like I should've gotten something by now.

Just wondering why there are only CHP incidents listed. I know this happened before and if the same problem has occurred.
