⚡WX ALERT⚡33 minute(s) ago Ah, well a lot of people don't know about the separate bensweather page. lol
McToddy1 hour(s) ago Dr B - No problem. The big thing to keep in mind is that a Battery power is short term (4-8 hours -- depends on battery size and how much power draw. A Generator (gas or propane fueled) can run for longer durations (ie., for days, as long as you have fuel).
Solar can recharge a battery (albiet slow), but isn't practical for powering 110v appliances alone. (it could be done but it will cost $$$$ to get the amount of solar panels that would produce enough power for 110v appliances)
DR B2 hour(s) ago that you for all the info regarding solar generator - it is much appreciated
McToddy2 hour(s) ago lol! i was just kiddin'

⚡WX ALERT⚡3 hour(s) ago Thanks Doggie Daddy. I think that page is underutilized, and a lot of people don't know it exists!
Doggie Daddy5 hour(s) ago Not that it needs mentioning in in this group. But there's always detailed local conditions at Bensweather. [Click Here]
Doggie Daddy5 hour(s) ago Applenut, that's a great link for local weather at BBCCSD! Their main office weather station is just a few blocks away from our place. You can also find very localized conditions from private weather stations on Weather Underground. [Click Here]
Metcalf Man5 hour(s) ago McToddy, Yes, I want all of that.
holeinbow5 hour(s) ago Welp, i found the equipment at the damkeeper's, precipitation gauge only with a nice flat line right at zero...
holeinbow6 hour(s) ago I have a buddy locally with a big solar array, 9 large panels. not sure on the specs but ive seen it throw a good 2 inch arc right after he put it in. Not sure if he harnessed it, the control technology has come such a long way since he built the thing. Oughta go have a beer and pick his brain a bit...
holeinbow6 hour(s) ago Im wondering if theres a link to the usgs weather station at the damkeeper's house?
Applenut6 hour(s) ago Metcalf; We just use the BBCSD station in Erwin, next to the water tank off hatchery [Click Here]
