Stormy and Simba were both banded. FOBBV mentioned Simba's demise in Tehama county a few months ago in chat. I just learned about Stormy a few weeks ago from Owen Pharis, a local wildlife photographer.

mountainart, I lived in L.A. in 1992 during the riots.
What a bunch of animals.
I am SO glad I no longer live in that hellhole!

Stormy was the one that fledged. Simba took 100 days to fledge. Both are dead now.

She sort of fell off and ended up on Simba's tree. Remember Simba? Had a temper tantrum and fell out of the tree? He roosted on that tree for awhile and his parents cared for him until he got strong enough to fly back to the nest!

Ok. Cam 2 shows she made it to a neighboring tree. She’s fine. Whew!!! That’s one way to fledge!

I hate to say this but it looks more like she fell😳. I sure hope that’s not the case. She was on the front porch limb flapping and getting air and then landed back on the limb awkwardly and sort of fell off it. Can’t see in the cam if she managed to fly but I pray she did.
