Remember the PPC? The pool, dances, bar, etc. When my parents first bought in BBC in 1957 we all received LIFETIME memberships. Gee, I'm still alive and haven't used my membership in years. I can't even remember when they finally closed it up.

I was only there once for a last day of school swim party. I think you could swim at pan hot springs too. Not much left off the whole subdivision, you have to look real hard to see the twin bears. It used to be fun to see how they were dressed from time to time. I don't remember ever seeing the peter pan statue Didn't get out to Bear City often, it used to be a long drive.

MY GRANDPARENTS AND PARENTS USED TO GO THERE AMONG OTHER PLACES FOR DANCES BACK IN THE DAY....IT WAS CLOSED BY THE TIME I WAS AROUND,BUT I DID USED TO PLAY LITTLE LEAGUE T-BALL THERE WHEN I WAS REALLY YOUNG AND WHEN I WAS OLDER WE USED TO SNEAK INTO THE OLD MAIN HOUSE AND SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF EACH OTHER(IT WAS A CREEPY ABANDONED PLACE WHEN YOUR A LIL SQUIRT)

I think the PPC was actually originally a developer's plan to help sell property. At least that is what I was once told. (Then again, I was told some fairy would give me a dime for my tooth that fell out!) That is the reason for many of the street names in the area. Peter, Michael, Nana, etc.

yes that was where the club house was part of the airport, the park and more was the golf course. The buildings at the park date from that era.
The twin bears that were at divison was also part of it.
most of us town kids swam at stillwell's, paramont lodge, or Fullers if we could get in
high school played some football games there

Boy that brings back some memories! I learned how to swim at Pan Hot Springs.... then my folks bought a membership at Peter Pan.... I used to swim there nearly every day in the summer! That was back in '55 through '57 when we lived on Michael Street in BBC.
Ahhhh... the old days!
It's clear and sunny here in Anchorage.... a balmy -2 degrees!

Portable they would have the fireworks show if the entire place was falling down. We are getting drift smoke but it is not that bad as of last night. Blue sky's this morning.
