We’re building up here. Now yours would be considered a “dream” home. It’s like a beautiful fairy tale.
Ours is really nice with beautiful views but we won’t live in it permanently. It’s too big. My fantasy home would be deep in the forest. A comfortable home for us with lots of wildlife. We’ve had plenty of that but since the invasion of those who just come up to play, the animals have gone back into hiding. We’ll be glad when this chapter moves on to the next so Big Bear has a few peaceful days again. keep posting. It’s fascinating.

Thanks! hope your build gets the C.O.O. soon! Be wonderful to be able to spend the holidays in a new cabin that you built yourself!

I started to work on the door area, the posts are 6x12 timbers, and there is a log fletch cut fitted onto the log ends on the left side. Door opening is 40" wide by 7' tall.

Am making the ironwork for the door now, will post pics when done

FYI, drift smoke still visible off the El Dorado Fire. It's burning into some green the fire found within the fire's perimeter. Really nowhere to go and will eventually run out of fuel as it burns into itself. No threat to containment, but smoke may continue to puff up at times. [Click Here]

DWJ, I know they were out searching again today. As of 2pm they were still looking as I was monitoring the scanner. Haven't been since then...

Just ashes from the wind at Arbolado .
Close calls at Camp Round Meadow, camp Tata Pochen by Jenks Lake Road West . None of the camps had any structures damaged. Great work by the courages fire fighters . It’s a blessing . Will see what happens this week with the Santa Ana wind heat wave
Thank you

Just making sure everyone knows: 42040 Garstin Rd is the Big Bear Public Works yard, and their HAZMAT drop off time is Saturdays from 9-2 weather permitting. The Clean Bear Sites do not accept HAZMAT.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. Yes, I knew we could take household hazardous waste to Garstin on Saturdays. Doohickey, they do take oil, I have taken used oil there in the past with no problems. Actually, I believe the fire department manages that and they just use the Garstin facility as a staging point. EWaste is different than household hazardous waste. I know Garstin takes ewaste, but I thought it was just for BBL residents so thanks Razz for setting me straight on that one. So I guess I can go to either Garstin or the transfer station. So many choices.......
