| Hey all, so I've been camping and off-roading around the BB area for the past ten years or so and have camped in most (if not all) of the campgrounds around the lake (I store my travel trailer in-town for the summer and move it to where ever I want to camp when I come UPTH) though I'm planning on buying a cabin in the next year or so.
My question is, if I wanted to post some reviews of some of the places I've camped at in the BB area would that be welcome on this forum? Most are good reviews so I'm not just looking for a place where I can air my dirty laundry, thanks!

| no reason you can't but it would probably get more attention in general discussion

| I would love to find a place to rent a space for our trailer for the summer that was reasonably priced. Love BB! Look forward to reviews. | Back to top | |

| Thanks all, I'll start working on getting some posted, I'm going to be in-town this weekend checking-out some new places!
Campingmom, what I've been doing for the past two summers is storing my travel trailer at a self-storage lot in BBC then when I come to town I just pick it up, tow it to wherever I'm staying for the weekend then drop it off back at the storage yard on my way out of town at the end of the weekend. My trailer is very small so I generally have no problem getting it into smaller campsites or campgrounds, plus not having it parked at one particular campground for the summer allows me the flexibility to try different places.

| Since I can't seem to find any follow up on this post, I'll post a review of Green Valley Lake Campground here.
We camped here last weekend with a group of about 12 adults and 7 kids. Those in the group with RV's got adjoining sites, but the rest of use tent campers were spread out throughout the campground. The campground was not full to capacity so it was nice to have additional space between groups and a lower noise level. Most of the sites are good sized, with plenty of room and most getting partial shade from the large trees inside the camp. Several of the sites are on a slant so be aware when booking a tent site that your get one that at least has some level ground. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained, however it is a bummer that there are now shower facilities at the park. Pay showers would make tent camping for longer times much more manageable. There is also a moderate fly problem in the campground, so bring repellant or citronella candles. Another minor gripe is the no-camp fire policy currently in effect. I understand the need for this to protect our forests, it is just not the same to roast marshmallows over a propane fire pit (which are allowed). The camp hosts were friendly and quite active making their rounds to greet campers and get everyone checked in. Some of the sites back up to a shallow ravine with a cool fallen tree bridge crossing it. It made a great playground for our kids. I believe those site numbers were 31,33-35? If you need a break from camp drive into town and rent a paddle or row boat and enjoy the lake for an hour or two. Then get a nice cool treat from the Malt Shoppe before getting back to camp. Lots of fun forest hiking and exploring is just steps from the campground.
I give it 3.75 stars out of 5 | Back to top | |
