No good deed goes unpunished.

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me alone.

Where's my kayak!!

What doesn't kill me does NOT make me stronger. It makes me anxious, bitchy, and vulnerable...but nobody wants to see that embroidered on a pillow...Lisa Kogan...thx LXL...sorry i stole it from you! Ok, maybe I'm not sorry :-P

But, it doesn't take long and it'll dry up. I remember one year with an early snow in Big Bear, while the mountains still were snow capped, Lucerne got a downpour and it filled up. Driving by, you got the reflection of the snow peaks of Big Bear in Lake Lucerne - Lucerne Valley actually looked like Lucerne

Curious why the Manzanita fire has not been listed on InciWeb, but the Mart fire was almost immediately. Manzanita is still active fire, but 25% contained.

Jun 28 : 09:42am
Thanks, JohnM very informative!

Just markers that diffetentiate
Divisions, sections of the fire.

Thank you franksvalli. Appreciate the prompt and informative response!

Found a list of fire symbols: [Click Here]

Jun 28 : 09:06am
Does anyone know, perhaps, what the weird parens on the inciweb map designate?
Example: ) (

so.....just because you do not see smoke, doesn't mean the fire is contained, controlled or out. Sometimes "out" comes with winter storms.

Just Thinkin'

Jun 28 : 08:55am
Containment is when firefighters on the ground cut fireline down to mineral soil along the edge of the fire (black) how wide? 1 1/2 times the adjacent vegetation. Often on steep rocky terrain, its a slow arduous process.

No, could you explain!

Jun 28 : 08:32am
You know what containment is right?

Jun 28 : 08:10am
Hope so!!!!!

Jun 28 : 07:41am
No smoke as I look across the valley from Redlands. Looking better than 15% containment would imply

Jun 28 : 06:55am
Except for the 15% containment, it seems like the same data as last night...
