True all. And, like Doo, our home has its own independent power source. However, out-of-control PSPS's create widespread hardship in Big Bear Valley. If we don't bring this up, the PUC fools won't have these complaints in their meeting notes -- it won't be on the record. Better to speak up about it than fume in silence.
Good point! But some people don't have the $30k in cash to fork out for a solar system. And if you lease, well, then you're paying them for your power, so it doesn't really save you anything in the end.
If y'all had opt'd for BVES to install a reverse meter ~a decade ago and jumped on NEM-S grid crediting using ur home's solar array, you'd not even have an electric bill (minus piddly usage service fees).
But that was perhaps like a stock market investment, to the uninformed...

Why would the PUC start listening to us now? I am sure somehow there is a rebate scheme in there for them to scam on. Why else would we be paying 3x more than anyone else in America. Watchdogs my butt, they are watching thier wallets and nothhing else. Dang, how did that soapbox sneak out of the closet again.
Here's Big Bear's chance to tell the Public Utilities Commission that Big Bear residents are tired of SoCal Edison shutting off BVES's power (or threatening to) every time there's a 25 mph gust of wind somewhere in San Bernardino County: [Click Here]
