I must eat crow on the 38. They did a great job opening it.

Merry Christmas SCM. The true Xmas miracle is the opening of HWY 38. Yesterday’s storm was a test of every drainage structure, culvert and berm that was repaired or replaced over the last few months. Kudos to CalTrans and all the engineers and operators that worked so hard to make the fix!

@jellyorum, Can confirm that a lot of it was closed. Usually fun 2 hour drive that turned into 4+ while going through water up to the door handle.

my relative lives in Wrightwood, says lots of houses flooded with swift water and rock/debris flows, they are stuck there with no way out of wrightwood possible due to road/hwy2 washed out
