Aviation and meteorology by themselves involve mountains of technical knowledge that I think most people underestimate. That being said, I find it even more interesting to watch non-experts attempt to oversimplify two highly complex fields at the same time, whittling them down to ‘white lines in the sky are chemtrails’.
An entire community is generating confusion by hijacking real technologies (like cloud seeding and geoengineering), stripping them of their real concern and fear, and mixing that into their folklore. All to give it a veneer of plausibility… while blaming every
weather event and anomaly in the sky that they see.
Add to that the exponential increase in mistrust since COVID… and the explosion of opportunists exploiting that mistrust on social media for their own benefit through engagement… and we can quickly see how that confusion becomes really hard to untangle.
