At 8:45 this morning, County Fire responded to a rescue near Hwy 18 and Lower Waterman Cyn. An adult female was located on the slope 100’ over the side of the freeway. An adult male bystander was with the victim.

FYI - the Fire Hazard Abatement Notice Map covers only areas under the responsibility of the County Fire Department. In Big Bear Valley, it is only Fawnskin.

The rest of the valley is covered by Big Bear Fire Authority. They do not publish a map.

I am assuming that the CHP sent out that train derailment dispatch in error. The address posted in the incident is the address of the CHP office in Running Springs. They should have saved it for April 1
