SCM ALERT🚨2 hour(s) ago BVES PSPS UPDATE Update – Rolling Outages in Effect Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) continues to experience Southern California Edison (SCE)- initiated power interruptions as part of SCE's Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) due to ongoing wildfire risk. As a result, electric service will rotate throughout the Big Bear Valley. Customers should expect temporary rolling outages as BVES manages its limited local generation resources and works to maintain the stability of the electric system. During this time, BVES is prioritizing power to critical infrastructure and essential public safety facilities, including emergency services and other critical community resources. Rolling outages are necessary to balance available generation while SCE crews work to safely inspect and restore the transmission lines that serve the Big Bear Valley

Trail Rider4 hour(s) ago Watchful and Crissy, we too bought a Generac a few years ago and highly recommend.
watchful4 hour(s) ago Crissy, I hear ya! We got a Generac "standby" generator a few years ago, and it has MORE than paid for itself in terms of peace of mind and comfort too! Can be run off of propane or natural gas (we chose gas, but it can be converted anytime).
16 kilowatts powers the entire house - we can literally run all appliances simultaneously (not that we need to, but it's nice to know). We have it set to wait 10 seconds before transferring off the grid so it won't switch over just for brief outage "blips."
We get it serviced annually, but that's all it has needed in 6 years. Gosh, I sound like a salesperson but I'm simply a satisfied customer.
