Ok, so if we`re at 28 for the Big Bear Valley, have you actually done any research on how many people are actually living in the valley going on several months now?
Based on all of the shoreline lights I see every night and the crowds in town, a conservative guess would be 5-10 times the actual populations numbers being used!
The facts behind the numbers matter and greatly change the percentage rates!
The actual math is not "HYPE WORTHY!"

I see from post that some elect to down play the virus yes recovery rate is on the rise, they have formed treatments that have lowered the death rates. I do not want to ignore the numbers they just are what the are sorry. The numbers seem to be on the up turn in the community, If posting them is causing discussion debates and opinions then good. I like using the site for tracking the numbers over time as you can go back a couple pages for a reference see what they were a few days back. The Covid sites just give you a snap shot at a certain time frame like a baseball score. I wonder if the new numbers are Memorial Day crowds and what might be in another month from july 4th.. At least the news reports that peacefully challenged protest-looting rioting did not spread. WTF

Thank you Skyline! Interesting update this evening as posted in the Chatbox and in News. 9 New Cases (5 in Big Bear City and 4 in Sugarloaf). I haven't checked out the dashboard in quite a while so its nice to have a tally here. The city is doing a pretty good job keeping us in the loop with their COVID newsletters. Not that I necessarily like the content. Seems that the Big Bear Valley is experiencing a surge?

I don't know why media and doctors/specialists are avoiding the discussion of the protesters and rioters spreading the virus. Of course that's an issue, that's the root cause of the spread in LA County, you get 20,000 people shoulder to shoulder every weekend for a couple months and it's going to spread.
Need to call it what it is. I heard Dr. Ferrerr even say today that systematic racism is causing the spread amongst blacks, wtf??? Now the virus is racist!?? Lost all my respect for her. It spreads person to person, not color to color, it knows no bounds and does not discriminate, old, young, etc., we're all susceptible!

Blaming this entire surge on people protesting or people breaking into buildings is a bit one sided. What about the packed beaches, crowded bars, restaurants, gyms, Covid parties, Memorial Day BBQs, 4th of July, bashes, pool parties, large family gatherings, most all of which no masks were being worn. No one is denying the protests played their part but I saw a lot of mask wearers in the protests too. You cannot blame one type of exposure when there have been far too many types. Worst of which were those who refused to wear masks for their own entitled reasons. No excuse, other than medical is good enough for us to be watching this explosion of cases far worse than the start of all this. Now the economy has been set back even farther. Who do we thank...

You're right, I should have clarified it's not the only reason, obviously there's many other factors, but to actually say protesting had NO effect is ignorance. It looks like a lot more people are wearing masks these days. I've seen many people on the beach wearing them as well. It's becoming more evident masks are not working. People should use common sense, if it helps even a little bit I'm all for it, just seems like that is not the case with numbers exploding.
