Snow In So Cal In September OCTOBER?!?!?!

Yep! There are still a few small patches of snow up on Jepson Peak and San Gorgonio above 11,000 feet elevation! While it's not uncommon to have small patches like this up there at the beginning of August, I don't remember snow sticking around up there into September since 2005. I took these pictures this morning.

Thanks! Me too! It's a great little pocket camera with 30x optical zoom.
This photo is from my Nikon, also taken from our place in Fawnskin (yesterday). The snow won't be around much longer.

There's a 3rd patch of snow in the gully north of Bighorn Mountain, and possibly a 4th patch north of the 2 shown in the photos above. This satellite photo is from Sept. 28th.

If we don't have a late winter, we just might have the beginnings of a glacier up on San Gorgonio! Last time this occurred was 2005. You know I'll be watching very closely to see what happens in the coming weeks.
I took these pictures this morning from just south of Onyx Summit.
