Black Diamonds

Does anyone know why Black Diamond closed? We liked it. It had great food fun atmosphere live music etc. it seemed to be always busy when we went there.

Black Diamond Tavern, at 42172 Moonridge Way in Big Bear Lake, was inspected Oct. 30 and scored an 80/B, with two major violations. The dishwasher wasn’t sanitizing dishes; the facility was ordered to immediately stop using the machine and wash dishes manually until it’s repaired. Also, several items of food weren’t being kept hot or cold enough.

The end of a short lived era. When they first opened the food was great, generous portions, and happy hour for wine worth going for. After a bit. I noticed the food was not as grand, the portions were half the size and the happy hour for wine not as enticing to me. The music became very LOUD and you could not have a conversation with your table mates without yelling back and forth. I think it does a slow death, but that’s just my personal opinion.

Bummer. I used to like this place. Agree with Cricket, though...it dropped off at some point and wasn't as appealing. Still....had a lot of good times and food there.
