USFS Pile Burning Scheduled for 2-11-19 through 2-14-19 for the Big Bear Valley

Prescribed burning planned for Big Bear area:
Mountaintop Ranger District, San Bernardino National Forest, U.S. Forest Service

Fire crews will take advantage of weather conditions safe for prescribed fire to burn slash piles made from vegetation thinned from the forest. These active forest management projects continue longtime efforts to maintain community defense along the south side of Big Bear Valley.

Smoke and flames may be visible day and night during burning periods.

The Prescribed Burns will be taking place on the east side of the Big Bear Valley near the communities of Big Bear City, Baldwin Lake, Erwin Lake and Lake Williams.

Burning will take place beginning the week of Feb. 11, 2019. Burning is scheduled Monday through Thursday.
