Peel, cut in half, and core the ripe pear. Saute it in butter. Fill the core with a scoop of fine vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
The true Pear Helena would have 'Pear Williams' (German pear liquor) poured over the chocolate. That is why I keep a bottle on hand.
