Reverse Forum Order
Craig ⭐, Sun Mar 26 2017, 03:25PM

Just wanted to get some feedback on something that could be changed within the forums of this site.
New member HVACman was wondering if there was a way to reverse the forum post order so they appear newest to oldest (meaning page 1 will always have the newest posts). This is something I can do on the site globally for everyone (its all or nothing). Would love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks,
Craig

I suppose once we got used to it it wouldn't be that big a deal. So, non-issue for me if you decide to do it.

Question for Craig. In a reverse format, would individual pages be reversed as well with the newest entry on top and oldest on the bottom? If so, I think that would pose a problem. A lot of us like to explore historic threads from start to finish and the current system works very well for that. If reverse order means reading from the bottom of the page to the top I would be opposed. If individual pages could still be read fro the top down, I guess it would be okay but I don't feel a great urge to change.

I may be in the minority here but I say don't. There is another site I wander that is set up that way and I find it annoying, but that's just me.

Keeping the existing order of thread posts allows one to read thread development.

The late RIM forum drove me up the wall. Maybe it was in the code. but time after time I couldn't find what 'really was the latest' post.
