I remember once, just finished shoveling the driveway, car very visible, plow comes around the corner and throws up a nice big berm. At least I was still dressed to shovel and take care of it before it turned to a solid wall of ice.

What is the logic behind the plows? Do you clear the roads so that they are usable but put up a berm so that you can't get out on the road

Seriously, while the roads are plowed, they also spread gravel on the plowed surface. Good move as I live on a BBC hillside, otherwise they are just exposing the ice. Curves, grades, and intersections can all use some gravel.

What are the routes/priorites for the plows? I would assume it is the major roads first, access for emergency vehicles and hospital. Does anyone really know?

I have loved the fact that we have a LEO and high-ranking fire officer that are near us, so we always think that is why our road is usually plowed "fairly early."

Interestingly, Bruin Trail in Fawnskin is a primary road, but all of the roads to Bruin Trail are secondary!

Not quite true BBB. Primary routes are those most frqentlt traveled such as school routes, etc. and a lot of preparation goes into those naps believe me. And it all boils down to you get what you pay for. I live in a HOA. We paid for our road maintenance an annual fee of $1200 and that pays for our snow removal and the basic empty room express it has paving we are assessed more. The snowplows leave a 2 to 3 foot berm in a storm like we just had last weekend and we are all expected to Clear out our own driveway which we do if it's big like it was this weekend we pay for it $75 if not my husband and I get out there with the shovels and do it ourselves.

Dang talk to text...what I meant to say is the annual assessment pays for snow removal and basic upkeep's if we need paving then we are assessed an additional fee

I think their point was that if you have a primary route, it needs to be connected to another primary route. They don't pick up the plows, fly them over the secondary route, then plow the other primary route.

Got snow? McCall ID does. Where are the plows?

I'm gonna guess the plows don't come out in McCall unless there's a good amount of snow!
