11,500 watts? going to try and go back to the future Marty? 95 amps. This has a ground wire for the house and a cord with 2 male ends on each end He used to poer his house 42 amp should run every thing. I'm just making room

I think I remember you bought it not that long ago. I need one to run a welder it will cost me a fortune. Probably easier just to buy a TIG. Yours should sell quick, winters coming.

It is big, it is heavy, it's industrial type. it will run an air compressor and saws with no problem you could maybe light up your block . just taking up to much room in the garage and not used much. The power will probably go out after I get rid of it. tag on the generator says 41.7 amp at 3500 rpm. Motor is 10HP Brigs

"amps x volts = watts"

now is a good time to sell it. power may be out for a long time. I never understood why they took the Harnish line out? They are doing scheduled maintenance in Palm Springs and turning power off 120 degrees today

This thing is still around sitting under a shelf in garage it is hard too start and loud, but it makes a lot of power. Brigs Straton 5hp. motor. I got it from a guy that used it for home back up power on his home.

Very surprised you have not sold it yet. Unfortunately I have already purchase an inverter generator. At considerably more money. But being an inverter the sound is quieter. With the pland power shut downs it should sale quickly

FYI to anyone looking at standby generators. First thing is that, at this altitude those internal combustion engines will loose about 18% of their rated power. Power loss is negligible up to about 600' AMSL then you loose about 3% per 1000' of elevation. So a 5kW unit can be expected to deliver about 4100 watts. Also, the formula for calculating single phase A/C power is current (amps) x voltage x power factor (PF) = watts. Another BIG thing is to NEVER use a cord with two male plugs to connect to your system. The law, and common sense, requires the use of a transfer switch so that their is no chance of accidentally back-feeding generator power into the utility grid.
