Summer Vacation

R and I got to see a lot of cool things on our recent vacation. I'll keep posting here as I go through the 2,500+ photos & 50+ videos I took on the trip.

To start off, this was possibly the coolest thing we saw - an Osprey & Bald Eagle fighting in flight. First, a couple pictures (screenshots from video) then the video itself, slowed down to half-speed to more easily see the action. In both of these photos, the Osprey is above the eagle. Notice that the eagle goes upside down each time the Osprey approaches it.

And I think this was our favorite campsite on the trip. Mt. Shasta in the background and Lake Shastina behind me from where I took this photo. Best part? It was a freeeeee! campsite!

The only sign of drought I noticed in Oregon is that Multnomah Falls isn't flowing as much as I remember it almost 15 years ago:

Just looked at this post. That is very interesting to see, how the eagle goes inverted every time the osprey approaches. Thanks for the (always) great photos and video.

RV wouldn't fit. We didn't see it. With a tunnel that long, there is no light at the end.

I did miss that one - we didn't go in the Visitors Center at that park.

But we did stop at this tribute to the Morning Show's extended family when we were in Colorado last year:

The visitor center was an interesting stop. The records and information from the Navy base were pretty darn cool!
