Yup gonna do a rinse just in case

The brine they use IS salt based. It is supposedly not as harsh on cars as the stuff back east. Supposedly. If your paint is in good shape it shouldn't bother it for a little while. AND since most modern cars are NOT steel it shouldn't bother them. But if you have access to a car wash or a hose that works RINSE it off- can't hurt and might help!

Andhon, I bet most of that is Cinder Dust (they use a LOT of cinders in the local mountains). If you think otherwise, then by all means rinse it off.

From what I heard, they are laying down "brine" on the streets before expected smowfall to assist in the road surface clearing. I definitely try to stay off the boulevard until well after the snow falls, to help protect all my antique/vintage daily driver cars.

Andhon, I have never seen them use salt. I do remember them using salt in Montana...

Andhon - the day before a storm, the road departments spray salt water brine on the roads. During and after a storm, they put down lava rock chips (cinders) on icy patches.
