This thing is way too freaky. I did it about 100 times, and she guess correctly each time. I know there's a logical explanation for how it work, BUT WHAT IS IT???? David - Where are you? LT
It's not as weird as you think, at least not for the reason you think...but it's hard to explain...
Any 2 digit value you choose, minus each of the 2 digits will always come out to a value which, if you add those 2 digits will equal nine. For example:
23-2-3=18...1+8=9 or 69-6-9=54...5+4=9 or 72-7-2=63...6+3=9
You can do more examples and will find the same it true. Id you assume ALL possible answers will come out like this, then the grid with "regifting items" simple needs to be the same for all answers that digits add up to 9 (09, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, and 90)
Not so mysterious after all...except when you wonder why the math works the way it does!
