## Press Release from the Big Bear Fire Department ##

BALDWIN LAKE, CA/July 11, 2019– A residential structure fire was reported on Parkway Drive in Baldwin Lake at approximately 2:07 p.m., on Thursday, July 11, 2019. Upon arrival, fire crews observed a doublewide manufactured home with fire and smoke coming from the back of the residence. Crews were able to confine the fire to the exterior rear wall of the residence, the deck and a portion of the roof. Through a swift fire attack, knock-down was obtained within 5 minutes. There was one occupant at home at the time and exited the property safely. A bystander that spotted the fire attempted to assist, suffering minor smoke inhalation but refused treatment from paramedics.

CAL FIRE’s Engine 3558 responded in a coordinated effort with Big Bear Fire Department Engines 282 and 283, Water Tender 281, and Medic Ambulance 282. The incident was commanded by Battalion Chief Brian Parham. Cause of the fire is under investigation by Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal Mike Maltby.

My Dad worked as an Engineer for Douglas Aircraft - McDonnel-Douglas and Boeing in H.B on Bolsa and loved his job to his retirement and was well respected for his knowledge. He worked on the simulators for the space station, some tests requiring to be present for over 24 hours. One time when he was working on one of the stages for the launching rockets, don't recall which launch it was, they were having a problem with the launch at the Space Center and wanted Dad to fly there to help fix the problem. Dad wasn't fond of flying and there was no way he wanted to fly there. He ended up walking them through the possible problem over the phone and was able to talk them through the process to get the problem fixed. I always thought that was pretty darn amazing.

OK so Marcel from the city said he drove by and there was only one car in the driveway. That they are allowed to have 10 people there and 4 cars. Like I said the "same household" doesn't seem to apply. What it means is nobody really cares, as long as the vacation rentals are full. I'm done, thanks for letting me vent.

Spice guy, did code enforcement do anything. It sounds like they made a call and that’s all? I’m seeing 2 places down from me with similar situation. One of the homes had 8 cars out front and the other one had 5. Same household? Right!

Look at this pirate ship we just acquired in TX. [Click Here] functional inside, has a nice galley. Gonna paint it and park it in front of our smoke smokes. Who does that?

BaughHumbug Thanks for the info. We called code enforcement first thing this AM. He said he would call Destination BB. Later 3 men left & returned with about 8 stuffed full Stater Bros. bags. 10 people over there, 7 of them adults + 3 cars. Same household? It's a joke.
