It's for a group of non-profit charter school volunteers to meet and exchange ideas. About a dozen adults. Probably for the first or second week of January. Keep in mind, it's a non-profit, so budget friendly with decent indoor space to meet.

Your recommendations will be much appreciated!

Many of the churches have meeting spaces for rent. If you want accommodtions then things get narrower- Presbyterian Conference Ground, Pine Summit. Some of the camps off 38 do Science Camps in the winter weekdays so they might have something available on a weekend. Otherwise check in with Big Bear Cabins and see what they recommend.

PHR I think are not allowed to have events/meetings

Apples Bed and Breakfast

Vintage Lake Side

Used to be Wawona Lodge. It has the Wine Room and a bar. located across from Mac Donald’s. Wine and teachers at a meeting might be a good thing.

Cedar Lake has a nice hall.

You are booking into what could/should be prime ski/board season for a non skiing event. Think about other options.

Don't blame me! I was left unsupervised!

Try the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center. They have an area called Hofert Hall that is available to rent at a low rate to non-profit groups. You can contact them at bblpac©citybigbearlake.com or 909-866-5831.

Thanks for all the suggestions - quite a few I hadn't thought of! They will also need a place to stay because it's a two day event. Polar, good point - not the best time to have inexperienced flatlanders driving up. Will share all this info with the group & see what they want to do.

I use Flightradar24 . It informs you about what type of air craft it is where it departed from and what time it departed. I saw a couple Mercy air busses flying to and from hospitals this morning.

Quakes, I've had more helicopters over head this summer than the last 3 combined, and that's including when they installed the new lift at Snow Valley. A neighbor told me one was a forestry helicopters checking the springs and other water areas for illegal grows.

They fly through the gap in topo between RS & Keller Peak, my home has been buzzed too many times, one was way too low; my neighbors all came out.

IDK, the closing was for another work site, not the bridge work, that light is scheduled to be there for 6 months. 2 years total for the second bridge, the next one down hill, is longer and will have a light too, according to CalTrans. Don't know if that is continual or if they will break between bridges for winter, but being near the bottom, I'm assuming they will not stop for winter.

Good morning SCM!
Soooo 330 is open again. Does that mean the traffic light is no more?

Hey gang! Craig here from VCA. We just finished our newest video discussing canine bloat. Its a nasty condition that strikes rather unexpectedly and seems to hit larger dogs more frequently. If you have a big dog (dane, shepherd, boxer, rott, etc) or if you hike, bike, run with your dog, you should check it out. Thanks for all your support. We're not selling anything in this video, just trying to give back with good information.
