SCM Member NShore.Allen provided this photo of the rocks down on Hwy 18 in the Arctic Circle.
As the heavier rains move in to the area overnight and tomorrow expect more of this! Drive with extreme caution in the areas prone to rock/debris flows. Thank you NSA for the photos!!

Thanks for the date clarification NSA! One vehicle was hit today in that same area. Im sure it will be pretty messy after the heavy rain starts up.... Close Call!

These really small EQs don't seem like much to get excited about. These happen on and off throughout the day. Whenever there is a widespread breakout of them around this region, that is when things start getting more interesting. It looks like it has stopped for now.

It looks like the activity has stopped over the last 2 hours. I'm still on the edge of my seat for things to start back up within the next few hours or later this weekend or on into next week...

What a coincidence! I just now ran across this new article on my Twitter feed:https://www.npr.org/2019/04/ 18/714621123/tiny-earthquakes- happen-every-few-minutes-in- southern-california-study-finds? utm_medium=twitter& utm_campaign=science& utm_source=dlvr.it

I keep up with all these flare-ups in seismic activity - micro EQs that break out simultaneously. There has been some more occurring this morning so far.

What do you base that off of Quakes? There's really been nothing in our area the past week or so, aside from a minor tremor south of the boarder a week ago.

So far, things might be getting heated for some more seismic activity around here - anytime now or this weekend so far.

I think Jackie is entertaining herself by catching flies today!

Well they randomly pick 25 names, so the more of one name you enter the better odds of it getting picked. Then those 25 names will be voted on by the kids!

Lumber Jill ⭐

You can submit 2 names, but the 4th graders get to choose what they like best.
