Does anyone know why there are several roads up in Moonridge that are covered with a layer of gravel? Is this a prelude to repaving?

I do apologize Marty, there actually was a couple acre fire down in yucaipa a couple hours ago. They diverted some units off the Valley fire and knocked out out quick!

Someone also just asked about it (the smoke) on "Big Bear Stuff for Sale", so at least I know I'm not nuts. Maybe it's from Highland.

No fires nearby, no drift smoke. Can't imagine anyone having their fireplace going but you know....

We're well above average, if we're going with a normal July 1st precip reset (Some people now go by water year on Oct 1st. We should be at .73, and of course we're well ahead of that! Although some areas have seen far less than me. But an excellent start to the monsoon season!

Jackie, Mr. B and Shadow can all be heard most early mornings, chortling or squawking from different places in the area. Oten, all 3 chime in at the same time. Last Thursday evening, there was a young eagle squeeing in the distance that sounded like Stormy. He hasn't been spotted in the area in the past several days, so may have left the area as he ventures out further on his own.
