Where else but SoCal can you go from a Red Flag Warning one day to the pretty major winter storm the next...

It looks like a few inches of snow will be possible Wednesday morning before a stronger, colder storm hits the area Friday with, you guessed it, more snow!

Attached is the PDF statement from the NWS. Enjoy!

We can use the additional precipitation! According to the records from the Big Bear Dam, we're only at about 1/2 of our annual average for precipitation up here. (17.11 inches this water year, vs 32.91 inches average for the last 128 years.)

R and I took a drive through Holcomb Valley today and typically at this time of year, the small stream beds would have some water flowing in them and there would even be some water in a few low spots (seasonal lakes/ponds). But there wasn't much to see today, water-wise.

Wow, I was out in Holcomb last weekend and there was plenty of water on 3N07. Maybe 3 or 4 deep spots and a long stretch out closer to the Pinnacles climbers campground. Also a number of spots east of Belleville cabin on 3N16.
Amazing that it dried out that quickly. Sorry you had no need for a car wash.

Well, there are some mud puddles on 3N16 & 3N05, but barely any water in Wilbur Pond, and not much in the creek crossing on 3N16 just a ways east of Van Dusen Canyon Rd. And now that I think about it, I don't recall any water on 3N16 just east of Metzger Mine either. There's still snow on 3N12 on the north side of Delamar Mountain, but nothing flowing in the couple of places where I've seen water going across the road there in previous years.

WHAT ?!?!? Benny has no control over the weather? I thought he was a weatherman. Dang, that really wrecks my day.

The two missing female hikers in the San Gorgonio Wilderness have been located, safe at the Vivian Creek trailhead.

Full S&R response has now been initiated for missing bicyclist, Jamie Geiger, on the 18 between Big Bear and Lucerne Valley.
