To get you into Spring Mode, I thought I'd share some photos I took while driving up Highway 38 this morning!

The waterfall just below the "6000 Elevation " sign:

Mt. Baldy

San Bernardino Peak

Sugarloaf Mountain

Unnamed spot on the north side of the San Gorgonio Wilderness

San Gorgonio WIlderness

Mount San Gorgonio

Today's satellite image of So Cal. If I'm seeing this correctly, all the white that's over land is snow, except for some clouds in the lower right portion of the image. That and the white that's over the water is clouds. If you click on the image to enlarge it, Big Bear Lake can be seen just above the center of the image.

Great pictures Cammy, but I don't see signs of Spring in there.. Looks like Winter to me.

The southernmost mountains with snow on them rise to an elevation over 8,500 ft.

That is for Flight Following, meaning that the Forest Service Dispatch Center is tracking one of their aircraft via the AFF (Automated Flight Following) system.

Allen< Thanks for the update on the roads. I will stay home. Hwy 18 to Lucerne has one way traffic, Hwy 38 has construction and one-way traffic. There will probavly be a head on collision on Hwy 330 and 18 closing the road for a day or so. Thanks to the geni at CALTRANS.

Anyone know more about the list of "Road Status Changes" on Hwy 38? It's a true mystery to me at this point.

Sun Diego. The CNN report is correct and we here in Georgia are outraged. This LEO is a 7yr K9 handler and SUPPOSED to be responsible. The poor pooch was in the car in the LEO's driveway and not discovered til 9PM. Many of us are calling for his firing and animal cruelty charges filed. LEO is currently on "paid leave".

Notice, remember do not leave dogs in cars even for a little while in the sun. CNN reports a police dog was killed this way today.

Sometimes it is hard to figure out who your true friends are. Other times they just show up and shine!
