So as it stands right now it looks like a major pattern change on numerous levels finishing off this season. We are currently in a transition from our La Nina, into an El Nino believe it or not, which should have minimal impacts on our weather rounding out this season, but maybe for next if it hangs around, more on this later...

In the short term, it looks like a series of powerful winter storms will dig through the area beginning this weekend. These storms will be diving straight out of the Gulf of Alaska & very cold, so we're looking at relatively low snow levels, and it could be a lot of it, with at least a couple more storms expected out into next week, maybe through the end of the month. Long range stuff is very un-reliable and changes daily but overall things have been more consistent in this change for the past week.

Preliminary estimates are really quite early but definitely could be in the foot+ category by the middle of next week!

Missing PARENTS!!! Does this sweet face look familiar to anyone? He was found in the area of Big Bear Blvd and Barrett. Please call the local Sheriffs office if you do.

That is for Flight Following, meaning that the Forest Service Dispatch Center is tracking one of their aircraft via the AFF (Automated Flight Following) system.

Allen< Thanks for the update on the roads. I will stay home. Hwy 18 to Lucerne has one way traffic, Hwy 38 has construction and one-way traffic. There will probavly be a head on collision on Hwy 330 and 18 closing the road for a day or so. Thanks to the geni at CALTRANS.

Anyone know more about the list of "Road Status Changes" on Hwy 38? It's a true mystery to me at this point.

Sun Diego. The CNN report is correct and we here in Georgia are outraged. This LEO is a 7yr K9 handler and SUPPOSED to be responsible. The poor pooch was in the car in the LEO's driveway and not discovered til 9PM. Many of us are calling for his firing and animal cruelty charges filed. LEO is currently on "paid leave".

Notice, remember do not leave dogs in cars even for a little while in the sun. CNN reports a police dog was killed this way today.
