Due to the lack of snow in the local mountains, R and I took a drive out from Fawnskin to Green Valley Lake this afternoon: 3N14 to 3N16. Here are some photos:
R taught me how to take these kinds of pictures.
The north side of Butler Ridge as seen from 3N16 west of Big Pine Flat. Butler Peak is the highest point in the picture.
Butler Peak from further to the west on 3N16.
A confused flower thinks it's Spring. This was along 3N16 at about 5,900 ft. elevation.
This hawk flew up and landed just in front of us in Green Valley Lake.
Panorama of Green Valley Lake from its dam. Notice the lake is partially frozen.
A view of Lake Arrowhead from 3N16 northwest of Green Valley Lake.
On the way back, between Green Valley Lake and Big Pine Flat, this bobcat ran across the road just in front of us. This is the only picture I got as it was walking away into the forest.

What doesn't kill me does NOT make me stronger. It makes me anxious, bitchy, and vulnerable...but nobody wants to see that embroidered on a pillow...Lisa Kogan...thx LXL...sorry i stole it from you! Ok, maybe I'm not sorry :-P
