Now I remember where I saw that metal stuff. Still can't remember what we figured it was. The first picture has one of the cool things that Tom Core came up with. The rock with the locating pin in it. All claims in the valley used it as a locator. Yeah that is the area that is one of the areas that the rocks are claimed to be. One author said that is where it should be, but I am still looking for it to be North of Bluff lake somewhere. There are some strange rock formations in the area. And so much history. You were getting very close to my favorite area of all. What I like to call hidden canyon. Not that easy to get to by accident but there is a way to drive into it. If anyone wanders in they will probably see my claim posts. "Nicks #1" Turns out there was no nicks#2
By the way that is not the real hangman's tree. that is the second one designated that I know of and someone told me there was another one earlier still. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

BTY the stamp mill used the holes to bolt shafts thru a tube that helped hold the mill riging down. the reason for the holes was because with all the pounding the steel shafts would tend to snap so this way they could be replaced the bolt shafts. the steel back then was not the steel of today think of the large ship that hit the ice in 1912. and I belive every three holes held one stamp. from what I understand this was not the 40 stamp mill that once stood at luckys mine but a smaller one that was build on a 3 rd go at the mine. wrong photo removed "Americans were so tired of being thought of as dumbasses by the rest of the world, that some went to the election polls the last presidential election and removed all doubt."

Obama is currently in his fifth year of campaigning and speechmaking, which is considerably easier than being president. All it takes is a good writer, a teleprompter, a few lies and the ability to cry “wolf” every month or so.
Just overheard my 7 year old grandson singing "The Grand Old Flag". "Should all the planktons be forgot, keep your eye on the Grand Old Flag". How cute is that?
Also - watch your step. It is baby rattler season. Where there is one, there are probably 10-20 more. Saw a one-button baby - very pretty - that came from the north end of Mt. Doble/Gold Mountain.
