Keith, nice to meet you here. Are you ever on the 147.330 Big Bear machine? That's about the only place I go anymore when I hang out on the radio. How is the smoke down there this evening?

Wife and I are new General Class holders.Weve used Keller a few times and are amazed at what can be done with just entry level handhelds. All in for 200 dollars for 2 users, this can be a very reasonable hobby and cheap to see if its what you want.We are sooooo impressed.I can communicate where my phone doesnt, amazing.Hope more people will get licensed.

Great to meet new HAMs here! If I am hanging out on a repeater, it is usually K6BB (147.330). I got a new base rig a couple of months ago.

Its a very inexpensive quad bander, but it seems to work well and has some great features!
Hope to hear some of you out there!

Same here - I hardly ever use my radio.

But I always have it with me when driving around on the dirt roads up here in the mountains as we know that cell phones don't work everywhere in the backcountry. And knowing you like to ride a lot on the dirt roads up here too, I hope you carry it with you and have a few of the local repeaters programmed in it so if you had an emergency, you could call for help.

Should move the forest closed sign again? They just move it back. Haha.
I have a plethora of giant (3-6 footers) granite boulders I could tractor down, if I had an opening dimension and permission. Hehe, too much work.. and none of my business anyway.

Rocks for sale?
