Hey Everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted this sooner, however, I was just in the moment of deploying features without describing what they are. I'm sure most of you have figured them out by now.

LIVE WEB CAMS
As you have probably seen, SCM has transitioned to a new Web Cam Gallery (Live Web Cams in the Main Menu) which contains pertinent cameras affecting all of us that live in the SBD mountains and not a list of cams from all over Socal. The new gallery shows thumbnails and gives a much better presentation of what eyes are available to all of us. A new signature cam (San Gorgonio Wilderness) was installed about a month ago by BensWeather.com and SocalMountains.com to really offer a new unique eye in the sky that nobody else can currently offer.

NEW LATEST INCIDENTS SYSTEM
A new incident system was installed recently and is available by clicking on the "Latest Incidents" link in the main menu. This system is fully automated and in most cases realtime. This system (which has been in the works for several months) gets its data from a multitude of sources (web based, radio based, etc). There are a total of 2 scanning receivers that are dedicated to make this system work. Another receiver provides audio workups and of course the live BigBearScanner feed (along with a couple computers to do all that work). The incident system covers a majority of fire agencies on the Mountaintop as well as Forest Service, USGS, CalTrans, and soon CHP. Soon the incident system will be integrated with the Transcriber system so that incidents listed can be followed up on by SCM transcribers and reporters. This will eliminate the need for message forums to conduct this task.

Anyhow, just wanted to give you guys an update on the changes you are seeing and maybe wondering about. Much more to come!

We will continue to strive to better this site and make it more functional and useful for YOU! As always, we welcome your comments, suggestions, problems, questions, constructive criticism, etc. Please do not be shy. This is YOUR community! Thank you all for your support over the past 9 years!

WINTER IS OVER AND SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!

Just a quick note to commend you on all the hard work on this site. While we don't live on the mountain...yet...we do spend many weekends on the hill, the road and weather conditions are very helpfull and to be honest I like to keep up with what is going on in our little piece of heaven.

Enjoy Life

It woke me up. We rarely feel them in our house but this one was a pretty good shake. Must've been fairly shallow. Anyone else feel it?

So lets see- kids were in a tree building a fort, dropped a hammer, hit Goat in the face which caused him to crash into a camp fire where they were making fajitas thus burning his hand and getting fajita all over his shirt! Does that explain it?
