In other news, the police have asked a resident of Big Bear to please not camp out for the 6 months it will take to build the eatery. Craig L. has been warned that they will revoke his driver’s license if he keeps driving past the location every hour yelling to the workers to “Hurry the H_ll UP!!!”

In-N-Out confirms it will build restaurant in Highland Michael J. Sorba, Staff Writer Posted: 07/28/2010 04:28:36 PM PDT
HIGHLAND - It's official, an In-N-Out Burger is headed to the city. Officials with the popular West Coast fast food chain say an application to build a restaurant has been submitted to the city.
"I can confirm that we have started the process of obtaining the necessary entitlements and permits to open a new In-N-Out Burger in Highland," Carl Van Fleet, In-N-Out's vice president of planning and development, said in a statement. "If all goes according to plan, we will be opening in 2011."
Community Developer John Jaquess said the Planning Commission could vote on approving the application as early as Aug. 17.
"We're still working on the review of the project and making sure we've got everything we need to take it forward (to the commission)," Jaquess said.
In-N-Out plans to build an approximately 3,400 square foot restaurant with drive through service at the Highland Crossroads commercial center, in front of the L.A. Fitness gym. It's design will be similar to San Bernardino's restaurant at the northwest corner of Tippecanoe Avenue and Harriman Place, Van Fleet said.
If the commission approves the project, In-N-Out should be cleared for construction soon after, Jaquess said. Construction should take four to five months to complete, Van Fleet said.
City Councilwoman Jody Scott is pleased residents soon will have another dining option in the city.
"I think In-N-Out is going to draw business no matter where
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- they're at, even if they were right in the middle of the desert between here and Barstow," she said. "People do like that In-N-Out, and rightly so."
