Here is the CHP Accident Incident website. Make sure you look at the highway and not the area for the exact location. The area (Arrowhead) denotes the CHP station not the city of the incident.

No good deed goes unpunished.

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me alone.

Johnson Grade is the 18 route to Lucerne. Named after the guy who first cut the road. Back then it was also known as "Snubbing Post Grade". Sound familiar?

Eh, probably not the "original", but he did cut the road all the way to some rail head, maybe Victorville?! I'm thinking the original Snubbing Post part was from Cactus Flats to the top.

BTW, it's also known as "Sunshine Summit".

Don't confuse with "Sullivan's Curve", which is the long climb up Cajon made by the trains. That's considered a major feat of engineering for the time, and of course is still used. However, that was a major project. Johnson's was done by one guy and his mules or oxen. He had to be one tough S.o.B.

a bit late to the party.. you don't need the waiver to ride the sky chair if you are walking. Only bike riders need the waiver. The walk down is a different path this year and steeper.
